The Ministry of Agriculture in South Sudan’s Wau State in collaboration with an NGO operating in the area have distributed improved tomato, okra and onions seeds to local farmers in order to enhance production.
In a press statement on Wednesday, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the state ministry and the organization that supported the project.
They pointed out that the improved needs will boost the production of the crop for market purposes, while urging the ministry to distribute more seeds in the area.
According to figures released recently by the government and the United Nations, an estimated five million people in South Sudan are severely food insecure.
