A team from the capital of Western Bahr el Ghazal is leading in an athletics competition in Juba including events in running, shot put and javelin, held yesterday at Buluk playing grounds.
The athletics competitions are part of a ‘Sport for peace and unity’ competition sponsored by the Japanese development agency. Today the events resume at 4:00 this afternoon at the Buluk grounds.
A third set of football matches was also held on Tuesday. Malakal beat Rumbek 3-2 at Zahra field, Wau beat Bentiu 1-0 at Buluk, Torit tied with Juba at Supiri field, and Bor beat Pibor 2-1.
