Wau Health Sciences Institute (WHSI) in Western Bahr el-Ghazal State has announced a new intake for diploma courses.
The courses include Clinical Medicine and Public Health, Medical Laboratory Technology, Midwifery and Nursing.
The Head of Midwifery, Alberto Akec, said the Institute would start receiving the applicants next Monday until October 31.
The admissions include non-South Sudanese aged 35 and below, with good passes in physics, biology, mathematic and English language.
“Wau Health Sciences Institute hereby invites qualified applicants for three years diploma in Clinical Medicine and Public Health, Medical Laboratory Technology, Register Midwifery and Register Nursing,” said Akec.
“The applications started on Monday and end on Thursday, October 31, 2024. The minimum requirements include being a citizen of South Sudan or any other country permitted by the Government of the Republic of South Sudan and must not be more than 35 years old,” he added.
“The applicants from other countries shall meet special admission criteria regarding the tuition fees and stipulated by the Government of the Republic of South Sudan,” he said.
“Candidates from Kenya must be holders of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with grade C plus in biology and chemistry, and either physics or maths, and a pass in English language. Candidates from Uganda must be holders of the Uganda Certificate of Secondary School Education with a minimum credit grade in biology, chemistry, physic or maths, and passes in English language. Candidates from Ethiopia must be holders of the Ethiopia Certificate of Secondary Education with 10 C in biology, chemistry, maths and a pass in English language,” he added.
Akec said the candidates should pick their application forms from the Office of the Register at WHSI at a non-refundable SSP20,000 fee.
The applicants are also required to provide their color passport photos, the nationality ID and academic and birth certificates.
WHSI has since its establishment graduated health officers currently serving at many health facilities across the country.
