Wau governor to share power with SPLM-IO in his state

The appointed governor of the proposed Wau state said he is holding talks to create an inclusive government consisting the SPLM, SPLM-In Opposition, and other political parties in the state.

Elias Waya told Radio Tamazuj consultations are underway to form a transitional state government according to the peace agreement signed on August.

Waya said the new government will have seven ministries including one held by the SPLM-IO and one by other political parties.

The government will have three advisers for political, security, and peace and reconciliation, he said.

“The government will be inclusive from all the ethnic groups in the state," Waya added.

The governor said he expects this move to be welcomed by the citizens of Western Bahr el Ghazal.
