The governor of South Sudan’s Wau State Andrea Mayar Achor on Thursday said the security situation in Wau town has remarkably improved.
The governor told Radio Tamazuj that crime rates have reducing through efforts of the police and other organized forces in the state.
“There is a remarkable improvement in term of general security situation in Wau town because the security team is working as a team. From me as the governor of the state to director of the security services here in the state to division commander of our army, police commissioner, the head of CID (Criminal Investigation department) and county commissioners, we are working together as one team,” he said.
“Our objective is the restoration of security and maintenance of law and order in Wau state so that our citizens wherever they are, whether in displaced camps in UNMISS can return to their home,” he added.
Andrea further said they have a plan to carry out joint operations in areas suffering from insecurity.
