Andrea Mayar Achor, the governor of the proposed Wau state, issued several local orders on Friday, one of which was meant for the appointment of the new deputy and others for sacking advisors.
Two other orders were also issued to remove the town mayor Akol Akol Ajith and his deputy James Nyiyuo from their positions with effect from the day the orders were issued and became public.
No reasons were given for making the changes in less than six months after the appointment of the cabinet members, some of whom have never received employment benefits due to limited resources as the country is grappling to address a deteriorating economic situation as a result of the devastating conflict.
Governor Mayar, according to his August 26 order, removed from office the commissioner of Basilia County, Pasquale Joseph Ayan and appointed him his deputy in place of Andrea Dominic, the former deputy governor appointed by the ousted governor, Elia Waya Nyipuoc.
Wau State is one of the administrative units which came into existence in fulfillment of the October 2, 2015, controversial presidential establishment order.
