Wau governor removes town mayor, appoint new official

The governor of South Sudan’s Wau state, Angelo Taban, has issued an order removing Wau town mayor and appointing a new official.

The governor of South Sudan’s Wau state, Angelo Taban, has issued an order removing Wau town mayor and appointing a new official.

Governor Taban, according to the order which became public on Thursday, Hassan Ngor Aguer replaced Buhara as the new Wau town mayor replacing Celestina Livio Buhara.

A separate order also removed county commissioners. The affected county commissioners include Francis Ibrahim (Besselia), Taban John Guu (Bagari), Barjuok Ucu Kiuc (Kwajina) and Peter Dwai Uyu of Roc-Roc Dong.

However, the four commissioners were again re back to their positions the by the state governor in a separate decree.

The county commissioners affected by the order include Mel Aleu Goc from Marial-Bai County, who was replaced with Santino Manut Akec as the county commissioner, Marko Dut Upieu from Udic county was replaced with James Akauar Agau as the new official while Zackaria Aleu Awet from Kangi County was replaced with Santino Aleu Ajang.  Michael Ricardo from Kapali County was replaced with George Peter Musa.
