The governor of South Sudan’s Wau State has vowed to provide security to local residents in Wau town after withdrawal of SPLA forces outside the town.

Addressing the security and police forces in Wau town, Governor Andrea Meyer said that the police and security forces will be responsible for the town’s security.

Mayar pointed out that his government plans to move the SPLA forces outside Wau town after complaints about abuses committed against civilians in different neighbourhoods in Wau town.
