Civil servants in government institutions in South Sudan’s Wau State have received their July salaries, a local official said.
Wau’s Minister of Finance Akol Majok said in a press statement on Friday that his ministry managed to pay July salaries for government employees this month.
The state minister promised to release August salaries soon, pointing out that civil servants have gone for several months without pay.
Majok has pledged to deepen the state government’s economic reforms, promising to “revise thoroughly” the salary structure.
