Wau court releases four, sentences three

The specialized court for Wau December’s violence on Friday spelt out final ruling on seven cases, released four and sentenced three suspects to one year imprisonment.

The seven suspects were accused of participation burning Amer Adam during the burial of eight youths who were shot near South Sudan Bank last year.

Amer Adam is a Central Investigation Department or CID office who was also the accuser in the case.

The Judge issued one year sentence each for Partol Lino Utho, Paul Angelo Belal and Khames Arkangelo Ugo.

The three suspects released are Bolis Fangarasio, Simon Donato Jeni and Joseph Peter Masmino on ground of insufficient evidence.

Last week, the court dropped charges against the accused number sevn, Mr Dominic Joseph.

The court gave three convicts, 15 days to appeal.

On Monday the court will also announce charges against 21 suspects that include State MPs, Former Commissioner, Luka Anthony Obor, a civil servant, youths accused of participating in a deadly protest, destruction of properties and inciting violence.
