Wau citizens accuse Gogrial and Twic authorities of restricting movement to Abyei

Citizens and traders in Wau town have complained that local authorities in Gogrial and Twic States are blocking them from travelling to Abyei and Sudan through their territories.

The complaining citizens pointed out that they pay a lot of money to security forces at checkpoints between Wau and the two states, but they are not allowed to travel.

The citizens claimed that patients who need medical treatment are being forced to return to Wau town.

Meanwhile, several people working for travel agencies in Wau complained about what they termed "restrictions" imposed on travellers from Wau in the two states. They pointed out that the new decision caused them financial loses and hindered movements of people between Wau and Abyei.
