Security agents in South Sudan’s Wau State on Tuesday arrested nine civil servants who hail from Raja area in Lol State after petitioning the relevant authorities in Wau over a decision to freeze their salaries.
The governor of Lol State had formed a committee to transfer all civil servants who hail from Lol State from Wau to Raja after the creation of the new state.
A source who preferred anonymity told Radio Tamazuj that the security agents in Wau arrested nine civil servants from Lol State who petitioned the state government over a decision to freeze their salaries in Wau after they refused to go their new state.
The arrested employees were identified as Juma Al-Tahir, Musa Hassan Abdullah, Ramadan Aburrish, Arkangelo Augostino, Saeeda Abakar, Saeeda Salim, Abdel Radu Fadul, Radiya Osman and Naimat Izz-eddin.
The three ladies, Saeeda Salim, Radiya Osman, and Saeeda Abakar were taken by the security from the UN camp in Wau town, according to the same source.
