Blue Nile refugees at Yusuf Batil camp in South Sudan’s Maban County are reporting shortages of water supply owing to scarcity of water sources in the area.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, refugees in Maban said they were experiencing an acute shortage of drinking water in the camp.
“People wait for long times and they often go for long distances in order to get drinking water,” a woman explained. “Women line up in long queues so that they can get water.”
The refugees said humanitarian organizations operating in the area were silent on the issue. They called on the organizations to provide them with water sources.
