Residents of Mujlad town in Sudan’s West Kordofan State have reported a water crisis in the town, prompting calls for action.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, several residents of the town complained about an acute shortage of water due to malfunctioning water pumps and soaring prices of water.
“Prices of a barrel of water have recently increased in the eastern part of the town where a barrel of water is being sold at 20 SDG,” a resident said.
He explained that residents in neighbourhoods are facing difficulties getting water.
The citizens are calling on the government and locality authorities to look for an urgent solution to reduce the skyrocketing prices of water.
