A sub-chief in Twic County of Warrap State has been arrested after reportedly killing his brother over a family cow ownership dispute.
Twic authorities said the culprit fled following the incident but security apparatus managed to catch up with him and he would be prosecuted.
Twic County Commissioner Adhar Akok told Radio Tamazuj that the sub-chief had shot his brother dead and was subsequently arrested on Wednesday.
“It is true there is sub-chief who killed his brother after a dispute over family cattle on Monday and he fled, but was apprehended by police,” he said.
Akok said the chief and his late brother were quarrelling over one cow whose ownership each claimed.
Twic County Police Officer Lt Col Atem Deng Atem also confirmed the incident and said the victim was detained at the Ayen Abiel police station.
