Authorities in the former Warrap state have announced they have reached consensus after spending more than three weeks of discussions about how to distribute the state’s assets following the division the state into three states of Gogrial, Tonj and Twic.

Gogrial Caretaker Information Minister Ariech Mayar Ariech said Thursday that the assets distribution committee has overcome differences which it initially faced at the time of beginning to work.

“Thanks to our veteran politician and advisor in the defunct Warrap government, Comrade Honourable Andrew Kuac Mayol, for his no biasness and neutrality in chairing the assets distribution processes between three states. Finally, the three states agreed in consensus to divide all assets equally today,” said Ariech in a statement on Thursday.

Ariech admitted that there had been differences over how to divided fixed assets like office buildings but this has now been addressed after the three governors with directives of Salva Kiir agreed to evaluate monetary value of each asset as the basis of distribution of immovable assets.

He said the differences will now be paid in cash to the seceding states.
