South Sudan’s Vice-President James Wani Igga has concluded his probe into the recent conflict between the Maban and Dinka communities over the ownership of Kilo 10 area in Upper Nile, a local official said.

Northern Upper Nile Minister of Information Lual Arich Lual told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the country’s Vice-President visited Adar, Melut, Killo 10 and Jamam in Maban West County and met with traditional leaders of the two feuding communities to understand the root cause of the problem.

Arich further said the committee will present its finding to the Council of Ministers after their arrival in Juba.

He stated that the report will reveal who owns the piece of land in question and that a reconciliation conference will be organized to unite the two communities in the presence of the president.

Fighting broke out in June between Maban and Melut Counties over the ownership of Kilo 10 area, killing a number of civilians.
