The Governor of Sudan’s West Kordofan State Abu Gassim al Amin has threatened to expel Ayat Construction Company for failure to complete the construction of Babanusa-Muglad road.
This remark came during a visit by the governor to Babanusa to inspect utilities in the area.
A source from Babanusa town told Radio Tamazuj that the governor had a stern message to the company over the construction of the road, which took six years, threatening to terminate the contract.
He added that the governor gave the company one week to bring their machineries and equipment to complete the construction of the road or otherwise leave the state.
Eyat company has also worked extensively in South Sudan, particularly in the northwestern Bhar al Ghazal region during the CPA period, and was reportedly tied to some senior SPLM politicians.
