Multiple sources from Babanusa town in Sudan’s Kordofan State on Sunday said there are differences between the state governor Abulgasim Baraka and traditional leaders of the Arab Misseriya tribe.
The sources told Radio Tamazuj that the Misseriya tribal leaders are not happy with the state governor because he refused to appoint three representatives of the Misseriya tribe to the government as agreed upon during the Babanusa conference.
A prominent leader of the Fayarin clan of the Misseriya tribe, who preferred anonymity, told radio Tamazuj that Governor Baraka informed them last Friday that he will not appoint a nazir (paramount chief) and his two deputies from the Misseriya tribe.
The Misseriya tribal leader predicted that their traditional leadership will collapse if the state governor continues to reject any resolutions adopted during the conference.
