The governor of Western Equatoria State, Alfred Futuyo Karaba, on Monday presented the state government policy statement to the state assembly.

Governor Futuyo said although the policy could have been presented earlier, the executive had to discuss and approve its contents before its presentation to the parliament.

The policy sets out plans to implement reforms in the security, peacebuilding and reconciliation, and development sectors with an emphasis on service delivery.

Governor Futuyo urged the executive to work with the legislators regardless of party affiliations to ensure the policies are implemented.

“We came here (State Assembly) to present the policy of the government in our state, my policy as a governor is there, the policy of ministries. I will not be the only one to implement all these policies. The ministers have their own and I will ask them why they are not doing this,” Governor Futuyo said.

He also called for transparency and accountability for the achievement of government policies.

He also promised to renovate the assembly building and financially support members of the state assembly to research state priority matters.
