A member of the Western Equatoria militia known as the South Sudan National Liberation Movement accused the SPLA of burning civilian homes in the Gangura area south of Yambio.

The SSNLM source said the burning started Thursday night at a place called VTC before reaching Uze and Masumbu, where there is a primary school. The source said five gunshots were heard but they have not received reports of casualties yet.

Uze is the area around a bridge which separates the government-controlled Yambio town from the SSNLM areas in Gangura to the south. The SPLA crossed the bridge with eight pick up trucks, the source said.

Two weeks ago, clashes between SPLA and SSNLM in the same area left 15 people dead and wounded the SSNLM’s leader Victor Wanga.
