W. Equatoria governor to sponsor top performing students in primary leaving exams

The governor of Western Equatoria State Alfred Futuyo Karaba has announced that he will sponsor the ten best performers in the ongoing South Sudan Primary Leaving examinations.

The governor of Western Equatoria State Alfred Futuyo Karaba has announced that he will sponsor the ten best performers in the ongoing South Sudan Primary Leaving examinations.

Governor Futuyo made the announcement during the launch of the exams on Monday. 

“I wanted to tell you that I would like to see that the first and second-best students should come from Western Equatoria State. I want to see competition between boys and girls in all the ten counties. I will reward the 10 best, 5 girls and 5 boys,” the governor said. 

Speaking at the same event, the state education minister Grace Apolo Musa said the government will establish two boarding schools in the state this year.

“I have good news for you boys and girls those of you who are going to make it successful we are going to have boarding schools, Yabongo Boarding School for Girls and Yambio Secondary Boarding School for Boys this year, not next year. This is the governor’s promise,” she added. 

There are 13 public secondary schools in Western Equatoria State. 

More than 2000 candidates and over 900 girls are sitting the exams expected to end on Friday this week.
