The Governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, Sarah Cleto Rial, swore in the newly-appointed state peace and security advisor, Marko Peter Achor on Thursday.
Governor Cleto speaking during the swearing-in ceremony called on the new official to promote peace in the state.
“On behalf of the government of Western Bahr el Ghazal, let me congratulate Honorable Marko Peter Achor for your appointment as an advisor for security and peace,” she said. “We had a big gap in the security committee for a long period, but now, it is time for us to hold hands together with your presence so that you go ahead with your assignment.”
While noting that the state is largely peaceful, the governor urged the new advisor to initiate new improvements in the security sector in the state.
Meanwhile, the new peace and security advisor Peter vowed to diligently carry out his mandate.
“From today, the responsibility of security and peace is at my hand and I am able. People should sleep in peace as everything will go smoothly, I assure you. I will cooperate with the security agencies in the state,” he promised.
Marko Peter Achor was appointed in a presidential decree announced on 26th January 2023 replacing Hillary Claudio Musa from the same SPLM-IO seat.
