Western Bahr el Ghazal State Minister of Health Dr. Francis Hassen Michael has promised to provide essential medical supplies to the SSPDF Division 5 Military Hospital at the Grinti Barracks in the state capital, Wau.

This comes after the minister on Tuesday visited the hospital during an assessment tour to identify challenges the military hospital is facing.

“We are here at Wau Military Hospital for an official visit to assess the general situation of the hospital. During our visit, we managed to offer much-needed drugs to the hospital to help in offering medical services to the citizens in the area and the entire state,” Dr. Hassen stated. “We come with Amoxicillin tablets, Paracetamol, and malaria drugs, and this is just the little that we brought but this is not the end. We will continue with our cooperation and support.”

The minister’s visit to the military hospital came a few days after citizens complained about poor health services and a lack of drugs at the Wau Teaching Hospital, the main referral facility in the region.
