The former press secretary of the country’s Vice President Wani Igga who resigned last Friday, says he could not continue serving a government that is not able to provide security to its citizens making them continue to suffer from bad governance.
David Mayen Dengdit told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that his decision to resign is precipitated by the current happenings in the country.
“I have felt that things are not going well. The government is made up of different types of people, some doing wrong things and others doing right things. There are many people in the government who have not done wrong, but those who have done wrong things, those that hold positions of power; we were not able to talk to them, we do not have the chance to tell them what they are doing is wrong,” he said.
Mayen further accused the government of bad economic policies that has led to the economic crisis in the country.
“You kill your own people, you don’t pay their salaries. I have people who depend on me and I can’t send any money to them to go to hospital. The bad economic situation is due to the bad economic policies,” Mayen said.
He further revealed that being a writer he has written and published about the vices happening in the government since conflict erupted in 2015.
Mayen also noted that he will continue to write against any wrongs going on in the country until something positive happens.
