South Sudan’s Vice President for Economic Cluster James Wani Igga arrived in Yambio, the capital of Western Equatoria State on Thursday, for a two-day state visit.
Addressing the press upon his arrival, Igga said he would use the opportunity to preach the importance of peace and security.
“We must use this occasion for development and security, it should be the priority. I came to Western Equatoria because there are several programs which the governor will schedule for us in these two days,” he said. “I will return in March God willing and go Tambura because people there are suffering and many have died.”
Vice President Wani Igga appealed to the state leaders to unite and work together for the development and peace of the region.
He also congratulated the newly-crowned King Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue by the Azande community saying it is a blessing and the restoration of culture.
Meanwhile the Governor of Western Equatoria State Gen. Alfred Futuyo Karaba appreciates the visit of the Vice president in the state and assures him of security in the state
“As the state government, we do not have any problem. The state security is tight,” he said.
