Vice President James Wani Igga and several government officials attended the opening ceremony.

Igga cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the sparkling new airport terminal in the nation’s capital Juba.

In his address at the opening ceremony, Igga called on airport officials to keep the new terminal clean and secure.

The top government official called on the National Ministry of Finance to address all challenges facing the country’s civil aviation.

“The management of civil aviation must be independent. We don’t want interferences,” he said.

“We must respect the rule of law and we must respect orderliness,” he added.

The construction of the new airport terminal was executed by the Crown Company owned by South Sudanese businessman, Obaj Olaw.
