First Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, has reiterated the commitment to continue advancing in the fight until “every part of Sudanese territory is liberated.”

Since April of last year, Sudan has been engulfed in intense conflict between the Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, resulting in the loss of thousands of civilian lives and the displacement of over eight million Sudanese citizens from their homes.

Addressing the Sudanese people briefly on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Gen. al-Burhan declared, “We are resolute and unified in our determination to follow in the footsteps of the martyrs until we eradicate the last rebel presence from our land and reclaim every inch from insurgents.”

He emphasized that the upcoming battle would pave the way for the post-April 15th era, affirming, “There’s no reverting to the state before April 15, 2023, or before October 25, 2022, or even before April 2019.”

Al-Burhan pledged to provide further details following victory in the Battle of Dignity, noting that victory draws nearer each day due to the unity and solidarity of the people with the Armed Forces. He described the Battle of Dignity as pivotal for the nation, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter.

Earlier, Tom Perriello, the US Special Envoy to Sudan, announced the commencement of talks between Sudanese factions scheduled for April 18th.
