A Catholic Radio station shut down during violence early in 2014 has been repaired and is expected to resume broadcasting upon approval from the Catholic Diocese of Malakal.
Radio Saut Al Mahabba (‘Voice of Love’) was back on air for some minutes for a test broadcast on Sunday for the first time after almost one year, according to the Catholic Radio Network.
Last week a technician from Italy, who built the tower in 2009 managed to repair the damages at the tower and the antenna system, which was reportedly caused by RPGs.
“The staff of Saut Al Mahabba… is ready to resume work as soon as the diocesan administration gives the approval,” the Catholic media reported.
Voice of Love stopped working on 18 February 2014 during an opposition attack on the town.
