A large group of armed men reportedly raped and looted villagers in at Hai 107 area of Hai Referendum in Juba on Tuesday afternoon.
About 50 men from a nearby cattle camp raided the village without firing their guns, according to witnesses.
Sources said three children were raped during the incident and have been rushed to Juba Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
“It was unfortunate that vulnerable women and children suffered this inhumane act,” one witness said.
The men also stole money, mobile phones, beer, the witnesses said.
They also kidnapped one women after she refused to give them her property. She managed to escape later that day.
Residents in Hai Referendum urged the government to establish police stations around the area to protect civilians from repeated gunmen attacks.
One month ago a three women were allegedly gang raped at gunpoint in the same area while collecting firewood and wild fruits.
Nobody was arrested.
