Six people injured during a cattle raid which took place in Bor North County of Jonglei State are receiving treatment at the main hospital in Bor, a lawmaker said.
On Saturday, an armed group attacked a cattle camp in Jalle area, injuring six people, but about 700 cows stolen were later recovered.
Kuol Bol, a lawmaker representing Athooc North constituency in the state assembly, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that injured victims were flown to Bor hospital on Sunday.
“Those injured ones are being treated here in Bor town. Jalle is now calm after the incident and no one was killed,” he said.
The Bor hospital director, Dr. Bol Chaw said those injured were admitted at the health facility on Sunday and are in good condition. “Their condition is stable. Only one person has multiple fractures in the limbs,” he added.
Livestock herding is the main source of income in many South Sudanese communities.
