Floods and heavy rains have affected many families in various areas in Pochalla County of Boma State, a local official said.

The affected areas include Ojanbay and Obuodi in the southern part of the county.

Pochalla County Commissioner Jay Alual Adingora told Radio Tamazuj on Monday morning that the situation was worsening. The local official warned of looming starvation due to floods that has affected this year’s harvest season in the area.

The commissioner urged international NGOs to intervene and rescue the situation.
