The governor of Upper Nile state in South Sudan issued a decree removing the commissioner of Maban County denying having any “differences” with him.
“It has nothing to do with the recent differences between the police and refugees in Maban County. The county is growing like Malakal town after the repatriation of South Sudanese citizens, and due to the presence of Sudanese refugees from the border states. Therefore, the State government needs to redress any problems that may arise in the County,” Governor Simon Kun Puoc declared.
After removing Commissioner, Langan Baggari, the governor issued another decree appointing his successor: James Pasha.
The Deputy governor of Upper Nile State John Ivi Mounto explained that the removal of the Commissioner was just a normal administrative arrangement within the State.
