Upper Nile citizens welcome trade agreement

Workers in Renk County of northern Upper Nile State have welcomed the agreement reached between the South Sudanese and Sudanese trade unions.

Sayeed Abdul Ghani, the deputy administrator for training and capacity building of the general workers’ union in Upper Nile told Radio Tamazuj that the agreement will serve the workers well in both countries.

The agreement will ensure freedom of movement, and freedom of work of the employees in addition to the exchange of experiences and qualifications through trainings.

He noted that they are bordering White Nile state at the northern end of their county, stressing the importance of good understanding between their workers’ union and the unions of White Nile state.

Abdul Ghani also acknowledged their full support to the matrix agreement signed in Addis Ababa between Juba and Khartoum.

“If the agreement is implemented it will make things easier for pensioners and they will receive their pensions from the South Sudan Banks,” Ghani noted.
