Unregistered returnees threatened with deportation

The Sudanese interior ministry has threatened South Sudanese citizens in the country with immediate deportation if they do not register with authorities by the end of the period granted to them to do so.

The management of foreign affairs called for southerners to ‘speed up the process’ before the ‘expiry date’ and warned Sudanese citizens not to ‘shelter’ or sell homes to ‘unregistered foreigners’.

The authorities may grant South Sudanese a month to register with authorities in charge of organising migration.
