Sudanese security agents have detained and tortured the president of the Gezira State student’s association at the University of Khartoum’s faculty of education.

Students accused the agents of torturing the student leader with an electric iron and photographing him naked, while threatening him to join the ruling National Congress Party.

Pictures provided to Radio Tamazuj reveal damage done to his body allegedly while in police custody.

Eyewitnesses confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that security personnel took him to the Nile City police station and opened a case against him, alleging that he abused them.

The student leader, identified as Suhaib, is a member of the United People’s Front party, the student political wing of the Sudan Liberation Movement.
