Unity State denies report of cholera outbreak

Health officials in Unity State denied a report that cholera had broken out in the state.The Sudan Tribune website and Citizen newspaper in Juba had reported that more than a dozen people were admitted to Bentiu hospital with symptoms that were suspected to be caused by cholera, and one boy had died. The Director-General of the Ministery of Health in Unity State, Simon Wol told Radio Tamazuj that the report was not true.‘I want to tell the citizens of South Sudan, especially those of Unity State, that what was written in Sudan Tribune and Citizen yesterday is not true,’ he said. Simon Wol explained that the illnesses were caused by food poisoning and affected one family alone.
