Unity State decree bans use Sudanese receipts

The Ministry of Finance in Unity State on Wednesday directed all its institutions to prevent the use of forms bearing the old name of the Republic of Sudan and recommended using forms of the Republic of South Sudan. Abdul Rahman Bedi, the director for taxation in Unity State, stated that there are financial directives from the Finance Minister in Unity State Thomas Jal ordering the halt of using old financial forms of the Republic of Sudan. He explained that the ministry has started using the new ‘form 15’ belonging to the Republic of South Sudan and that the decision prevents the use of old forms. He also added that the use of the old forms would put the owner liable to accountability, and appealed to traders to inform the authorities of any employee using form 15 of the Republic of Sudan, starting from the first of August.
