Unity speaker returns after representing governor in Juba

The Unity State Speaker Simon Maguek Gai returned from the governor’s forum in the capital, which began last week 26 November. Only four of the country’s ten governors attended the forum, those being Kuol Manyang Juuk of Jonglei state, Simon Kun Puoch of Upper Nile state, Chol Tong Mayay of Lakes state and Rizig Zacharia of Western Bahr el Ghazal state. The speaker upon his arrival at Rubkona airport this morning said “We went for the governor’s forum. The forum was concentrating on agriculture. There were a lot of things people discussed. The forum also coincided with the trade fair conference, so the forum was this time very interesting.”Maguek noted that President Salva Kiir opened the forum. “The president advised the people of South Sudan that every man should farm because we should not only depend on oil revenues as the only income for the people of south Sudan but we must also work on agriculture to supplement what we have in oil,” he said.Photo by Radio Tamazuj
