The United Nations Interim Security Forces for Abyei (UNISFA) have decided to transport displaced persons from Wau area to neighbouring Sudan, a relief official said.
Deng Abul, deputy head of the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission in Abyei, told the Abyei Today newsletter that the United Nations mission in Abyei in collaboration with the relief agency transported about 107 displaced people including Sudanese nationals who sought refuge in the area following violent events in Wau town to Diffra in the north of Abyei area last week.
He pointed out that some displaced people from Wau decided to stay in Abyei because they could not afford travel expenses from Diffra to Sudan.
