The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), donated solar power equipment to the Aweil state government, a top state official said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, Governor of Aweil state, Ronald Ruai Deng, said his office and various ministries were facing difficulties due to lack of electricity.
“UNDP is a government partner in Aweil and I am happy with them very much. In a period of one year, they did three things, the condition we are having is that our economy is poor, no fuel and we said we wanted solar power for our offices, especial the office of the Governor,” said Ronald.
The state governor urged the UN agency to complete the solar power project so government employees can carry out their work successfully.
