UN worried about armed groups targeting markets

The UN is concerned about armed groups targeting markets in North and South Kordofan.

UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan Ali Zaatari expressed deep concern over the looting being carried out by armed groups in Kordofan.

He said large numbers of people are exposed to the dangers including women and children fleeing from South Kordofan and Blue Nile to North Kordofan and South Sudan searching for shelter and food, indicating the deteriorating nature of the situation.
