The SPLA-IO will hold a four-day workshop starting today in Addis Ababa together with the UN Office of the Special Representative on Sexual Violence and Conflict, according to a press statement from the rebel group.
The workshop from Tuesday to Friday will bring participants from the military operations, legal service, communications and political departments of the rebel group. “Officers would discuss the discipline procedures with in the SPLA/IO army, code of conduct,” said Dickson Gatluak Jock Nyuot, a spokesman for SPLA-IO.
Dickson said members would also set up a committee or task force for implementation. He said there would also be special investigation and prosecution unit created on sexual violence.
