The UN Refugee Agency has announced that it will construct a girls’ dormitory at the Juba Orphanage in partnership with South Sudan’s Ministry of Gender, Children, Social Welfare, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
Currently Juba Orphanage accommodates 78 girls and boys, who are obliged to share a single dormitory, the UN agency noted in a press release.
The statement explained that the new dormitory will include five bedrooms, a common room, dining room, matron’s room, showers and toilets at a cost of US$250,000.
