25 young South Sudanese professionals are part of the third batch of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research or UNITAR Leadership and Entrepreneurship Programme in Juba.
The program is a 6-month capacity building training focusing on project management, leadership and social entrepreneurship skills funded by the government and people of Japan with institutional support from South Sudan’s government.
The program started in Juba through an orientation workshop that brought together the 25 young men and women from the public sector, private sector, academic institutions, media, and civil society organizations.
The young professionals are expected to attend a workshop in mid-August in Entebbe, Uganda before they travel to Hiroshima, Japan for another workshop.
In a press statement UNITAR Hiroshima Office Head Mihoko Kumamoto said, “This programme aims at building a cohort of future leaders who are committed to serving the people of South Sudan and creating a better future for the country.”
