Ugandan hotel stops hosting South Sudanese events over fights

The management of Freedom City Hotel in Kampala has reportedly stopped allowing South Sudanese from organising their events and occasions at the hotel because of fist fights.

The decision comes after an incident in which two musical crews got into a violent fist fight last month. The hotel has since stopped hiring out its hall for South Sudanese parties.

“The last fight was the 8th of October, and that’s why the management was forced to take that decision so as to ensure safety for our customers and property,” a notice reads in part.

The hotel’s management said that their primary goal is public safety and whoever dishonours that deserves not to be allowed in the hotel no matter how much money he or she has.

Another popular club for South Sudanese in Kampala is said to be also planning to restrict South Sudanese over the same issue.
