A Ugandan national who was working with a Chinese mining company known as Fortune Minerals and Construction Company (FMCC), has been reported missing after a deadly attack on their vehicle near Ngawuru town in Kapoeta State last week.

Earlier this week, Kapoeta Governor Louis Lobong Lojore told Radio Tamazuj that a Chinese and a Ugandan nationals who were working as gold miners were killed and another Chinese man sustained injuries when their vehicle came under attack by unidentified gunmen near Ngawuru town.

Joseph Lokai, Kapoeta State Minister of Local government, said that a Ugandan national is still missing since the attack took place on Tuesday.

He pointed out that the Ugandan gold miner jumped out of the vehicle after the attack and ran into the bush, saying his whereabouts remain unknown.

The state official condemned the incident that targeted foreign investors in Ngawuru County. He stressed that the state government is working hard to apprehend the perpetrators.
