Ugandan business women urge South Sudan government to improve security

Business women in Uganda’s West Nile Region have called South Sudan’s government to improve the security situation along major roads to enable Ugandan and South Sudanese women to conduct businesses between the two neighboring countries.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj today, the Ugandan women in Adjumani district said since the outbreak of the conflict in South Sudan, trade relations between South Sudan and Uganda kept shrinking stressing that peace and stability in South Sudan is the only solution to uplift the collapsing business environment.

“We as business women in Adjumani district in Uganda are calling on the government of South Sudan and Uganda to help restore peace and stability so that we can be able to conduct real businesses between the two countries,” they said.

“South Sudan and Uganda will grow very fast in Africa only if there is peace and stability between the two bordering corridors,” they added.

South Sudan and Uganda are linked to two major trading entry points at Kaya and Nimule.
