A quarrel between soldiers in South Sudan’s capital city Juba led to the wounding of two bystanders on Monday afternoon.

A quarrel between soldiers in South Sudan’s capital city Juba led to the wounding of two bystanders on Monday afternoon.

Gunfire broke out at about 4:30 p.m. in the area between the Military Hospital and Jebel Market, and did not last longer than ten minutes. 

According to an eyewitness, two wounded men were later taken from the scene, one hurt in the arm and the other in the torso. Both uniformed men were reportedly bystanders.

Authorities have not yet commented on the incident or what has happened to the perpetrators.
