Gunmen killed at least two wildlife soldiers late last week along the Panyapoor-Poktap road in Twic East County, according to local officials.

Commissioner Dau Akoi Jurkuch told Radio Tamazuj said the soldiers were traveling with two women, who managed to escape.

“When they were traveling, they were attacked by unknown people,” he said. “There were two soldiers and women, so the two wildlife soldiers were killed.”

The women reported the shootings after they reached county headquarters late last week.
